CARVING BODIES, CARVING SPACE

As a response to the invitation and commission from The Flat Soil/ Den Platta Jorden, a network for artistic research in Scanie, the piece departs from a Bronze Age carving in Simrishamn Municipality, The Dancer’s Slab, using it as a score.

Four imageries present in The Dancer’s Slab - the foot, the horse, the ship and the dancer - are revisited through a transforming pulse that installs bodies as floating, ondulating, vibratory presences. The dance carves rhythmical forces and flows, loops and repetitions into space and body, turning the dancer into a warrior of the heart chakra, a Schaman for days to come.

40 min.
